MIGRACIÓN Y ESPACIO SOCIAL EN MALDONADO: Migration and Social Space in Maldonado

Resumen

  The migratory experiences are expressed differentially in the social and territorial space, marked by structural characteristics of the migrant population as well as aspects linked to the dispute for economic, social, cultural and symbolic capital. In this article, we present a multivariate exploratory analysis called Multiple Correspondence Analysis (MCA) that identifies relevant factors and constructs typologies of interaction between the variables selected from the 2011 Census data (INE: 2011). The analysis is complemented with the classification of migrants through the "Cluster analysis" classification method through the "Recip / Semis" procedure. Through this analysis, we tried to approach possible typologies of migrants.
