“Preclearance” is a program that allows the provision of preclearance services in air transportation by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), a law enforcement agency of the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This procedure is carried out at origin countries to inspect travelers, goods and aircraft with non stopnon-stop flights, from a designated airport with U.S.-bound flights. This procedure is conducted by CBP Officers in the corresponding country of origin, doing the same immigration, customs, and agriculture inspections of international air travelers typically performed upon arrival in the United States.
