Anuran Amphibians from the Cordillera de Cutucu, Ecuador
Openalex
Resumen
Twenty-five species of anuran amphibians are reported from the Cordillera de Cutucui east of the main range of the Andes in Ecuador. One dendrobatid (Colostethus exas- peratus) and two leptodactylids (Eleutherodactylus ganonotus and E. pecki) are described as new species. Two species of anurans are endemic to the Cordillera de Cutucui, and two species are endemic to the isolated Cordillera del C6ndor to the south of the Cordillera de Cutucul; two other species are known only from the two cordilleras. The anuran faunas of these two cordille- ras seem to have been derived in part from the Amazonian lowlands to the east and in part from the Cordillera Oriental of the Andes to the west (Amphibia, Anura, biogeography, Cordillera de Cutucut, Ecuador, cloud forest)
