Resumen
The rapid increase in the migratory flow of the population from Venezuela to Colombia has represented an important challenge for the country, one of them in terms of establishing the distinctive characteristics of those who arrive in the territory and have a vocation of permanence, with the aim of designing plans, programs and care and response policies. The departments of destination or transit of migrants, such as Santander, do not escape this reality, therefore, since 2017, the Institute of Political Studies of the Autonomous University of Bucaramanga, has studied the profile of migrants in the region , which has made it possible to approach the conditions in which the population finds itself, in order to understand the migratory phenomenon in the face of the political, economic and social transformations that arise as a result of the Venezuelan diaspora in Santander lands. This document compiles the most significant findings of an extensive study entitled Characterization of the migrant population from Venezuela in Bucaramanga, which corresponds to the fourth phase of the characterization in the municipality of Bucaramanga in the year 2021.
