Resumen

The present document aims to answer the mystery of whether the actions that the International Organization for Migration takes, creates a positive impact on the perception of migration in the countries involved in. Based on the migrations that have been carried out after World War II, and how this has impacted, in different ways, to many nations. For this, first, I am going to analyze the causes and effects of migrations, positive and negative, both in countries of origin, as well as the receptor ones. After this, the actions, campaigns and other elements that the IOM integrated into their programs will be presented, in order to understand which its main objectives are, and also to find out what does this organization do to fulfill them. Finally, to understand the effects of the work of IOM and the changes it has generated in the perception of migration, from a social level to a political level; a case study was conducted, focusing on Latin America and the United States.
