Resumen

Health Education, as a pedagogical process, must be developed from the work of educational professionals in their teaching-methodological, guiding and investigative functions, through educational methods that allow transforming the behavioral modes and controlling the risk behaviors in their students. Therefore, the only effective way to prevent the excessive consumption of alcoholic beverages is through a systematic, creative, gradual and preventive education, adapted to the needs and interests of learners. It is necessary to strengthen Anti-alcoholic Education since it contributes to preparing students for knowledge about alcoholism, the causes that originate it, negative consequences for the human organism and the actions to be taken by school, family and Community for the formation of healthy behaviors with respect to their consumption. Hence, this article emphasizes the relationship between health education, health promotion and prevention of alcoholism among university students because of its importance in the initial training of educational professionals.
