Escenarios de la migración latinoamericana: la vida familiar transnacional entre Europa y América Latina

Resumen

This paper has three parts. In the first one we examine migration between Europe and Latin America in a long-term perspective, highlighting the impact of globalization on increasing inequalities between countries and the processes of upward and downward social mobility of migrant families. In the second, we discuss possible scenarios and multiple strategies of Latin American presence in the European Union in the context of global crisis. Finally, we wonder about the effect that the current immigration policies, crisis management and the labor market have on the family life of the different Latin American migrant groups.
