The nature of science is a central content of and an innovative approach to the curriculum of school science, which stems from the proposals of scientific literacy for all. Its inclusion in the curriculum is problematic because the nature of science is a complex and new content, so the decision to select the most appropriate features and contents for the curriculum is far from easy and requires a solid base. This paper shows some consensuses on a specific issue of the nature of science: the sociology of the scientific community that involves the characteristics of scientists, and the social construction of the scientific and technological knowledge.
