Resumen

Since the late 1980s (and early 1990s) political science in Cuba is embedded in a renovation process that entails a series of important challenges. This renovation is closely related to the impact that the fall of the socialism in the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe had in the social sciences of the country. Such event forced Cubans to rethink the basics on economics, sociology, and political science. Since then, Cuban political scientists returned to the rescue of traditional political science in Cuba and those critical perspectives, which Roberto Gonzlez, called once "marxology".
