This paper analyses the CCP project (Master in Pedagogic Qualification) for the initial training of secondary school teachers in science education which is currently implemented at the universitat Autonoma de Barcelona (course 1999-2000). We discuss the bases of the project and some aspects related to organisation, curriculum and methodology. We consider the theoretic references and some opinions of the teachers, the students and the tutors who have applied it at their centres. This first analysis reveals that giving an answer to the problem of educating new secondary school teachers professionally is a very complex goal.
