Resumen

Bladder perforation by an intrauterine device (IUD) along with associated cystolithiasis is a rare complication related to this commonly used contraceptive method. We present the case of a 31-year-old patient with complicated urinary tract infection and suspected urolithiasis.Computed tomography, urography, and cystoscopy revealed the IUD perforating the bladder mucosa with an associated cystolithiasis.Ultimately, successful endoscopic transurethral technique was employed for the fragmentation and extraction of both bladder calculus and IUD.
