Causas de la migración cubana en Ecuador durante el periodo 2008 y 2013

Resumen

This research work analyzes the complexity of the phenomenon of the migratory flow in the world, in Latin America and, in particular, focuses on Ecuador as a destination for Cuban migrants, after the proclamation of the universal principle of citizenship in the Constitution of 2008. The aim of this study is to establish the causes of the arrival of Cuban migrants in Ecuador between 2008 and 2013. Likewise, it intends to answer the following question: why do Cuban citizens decide to leave their country, and what are the reasons that impel them to come to Ecuador? At the same time, the conditions that Ecuador offers as a migratory destination are examined in comparison to other Latin American countries. Finally, this research work analyzes the discordances regarding the migratory policies between what is stated in the Constitution of 2008 and the current Ley de Extranjeria y Migracion (Immigration and Migration Law)..
