Resumen
Health authorities are confronted, from time to time, to health alarms more or less that can lead to a crisis. In Spain, from Toxic Oil Syndrome occurred in 1981 (which killed nearly 700 people and affected more than 20.000), several laws that protect citizens' right to be informed in case of a public health problem have been published. In these situations, people are alarmed, worried and need to know how to act. We examine the keys needed to communicate effectively with the public in these situations
