Resumen

The objective of this study is to identify patterns of grief based on the discourse of the experience of migration of 8 Venezuelan women, 4 adults and 4 young people, who found themselves in the situation of having to migrate from Venezuela to Colombia. The method used was discourse analysis, for which in-depth interviews were conducted. The findings showed that migration can be experienced as a traumatic experience, which can trigger a grieving process in which the importance of memory and the role, whether changing or not, of identity can be appreciated. The migration of each woman is with individual factors, but also common; Throughout the speeches, you can see elements that have worked as facilitators during the process, but also the various difficulties that have been experienced. The adult women still seem in the process of elaboration because there were elements that made grief difficult, while the young women living the migration in a less traumatic way made mourning easier.
