La migración de los últimos ultramares chinos a Bogotá, Colombia - migración de nacionales chinos a Bogotá, Colombia durante los siete primeros años del gobierno de Deng Xiaoping, 1978-1985

Resumen

Since Deng Xiaoping was elected president (1978), two years after Mao Tse-Dong’s death and during the following years after the policy of immigration control was employed by the government of the People's Republic of China (PRC), the number of migrants from China to Colombia has been large. However, the migration of Chinese citizens to Bogota was not similar to what happened in other countries, as the US for example, because the context of each of these movements has been completely different. That is why it seems that in the case of Colombia, focusing in Bogota, one cannot compare and contrast process to the one of other countries where the migrant Chinese citizens also excists. For the development of this thesis I reviewed the visa applications of Chinese nationals found in the General Archive of the Nation in Bogota and reviewed case studies through interviews. Likewise, from this research a script Comic / Graphic Novel was made.
