This article is based on the transformations brought by the triumph of the Cuban Revolution and its role on the migratory movements that occurred on the island. The photography of the sixties, since becoming an ally of government?s propaganda, left few records of the problem; So, to approach the Cuban migration through photography, we have to refer to the pictures taken by Jose Alberto Figueroa, who portrayed the other side of the sixties in Cuba through the farewells ofhis own family before leaving for the exile. The article also aims to highlight the importance of photography as an essential document for studying historical events.
