Resumen

In December 2019, the new coronavirus named SARS-CoV-2 (causing COVID-19) appears in Wuhan, China. It quickly spread throughout the world and today affects 183 countries. This pandemic has an important psychological impact and this article identifies aspects of human behavior in situations such as we are currently experiencing. A narrative-type bibliographic review study was carried out. The results expose specificity and the need for psychological and social understanding in interrelationships with other dimensions of the pandemic. The psychosocial impact is described as evidence associated (direct and indirect) with quarantine and isolation and the need to continue working on the design of psychological programs appropriate to the Cuban environment and cultural environment is highlighted.
