Resumen

This work corresponds to a book by chapters, in which ten chapters are presented, with the results of the same number of investigations, carried out at the Faculty of Education of the Cooperative University of Colombia, Bogotá headquarters. Its purpose is to make known to the scientific and academic community the results of research in the educational sector, particularly on issues related to learning difficulties; theoretical and practical results that broaden the horizon of trends in this field of study, opening new conceptual, methodological and practical windows in addressing the difficulties that students present in the advancement of their learning, mainly in sensitive academic areas such as reading, writing, orality, English, development of citizen skills and challenges in learning the social and solidarity economy; at the same time, it reveals didactic strategies developed by the teacher in the classroom, the family in literacy, differentiated teaching in pedagogical practice, self-determination and intellectual disability, among others. Each one of the chapters alludes to important research antecedents in their field, which set trends and establish research bases. This work as a whole is justified by its importance for society, for the educational sector, the institutions under study and their academic communities, highlighting its relevance in the teaching work and in the achievement of academic and social success of the student; it is also justified by the novelty of the approach, both theoretical, methodological and practical in the investigated contexts themselves, where the usefulness of the results impacts, transferable to other similar educational contexts. The variety of relevant methodological processes in the investigations allows us to reveal relevant findings that contribute to decision-making by institutions, families, teachers and students. It is concluded that, from coherent investigative processes, it is possible to contribute to educational quality.
