Resumen

The migration of rural youth is a social phenomenon that is increasing every day in Colombia, is no stranger situation in rural areas in which daily increase their problems and needs. This study aimed to characterize and analyze the processes of rural-urban migration of rural youth of the town of Calamar (Guaviare) within a context that is current armed conflict, illicit crop production and low profitability in the agricultural sector based its legal economy. Finding that 96% of participants rural youth want to migrate (pre-migration stage) influenced the search for work-study opportunities. However, from this intention is not expressed in the migratory stage, only 46.4% of rural youth out effectively, of which 73% found work-study opportunities, while 27% do not. This shows that migrate to urban centers is no guarantee of social inclusion in terms of study and employment. Those who did not migrate 47% are not studying or working, this generates uncertainty about the future of the project life of these youngsters.
