Resumen

This paper introduces to the most relevant aspects of science. There is an historical overview, which makes emphasis on the role played by ancient Greeks and Seventeenth Century’s thinkers. Concepts such as science, its functions and classification, science as research, science as knowledge, scientific method are also addressed and analyzed.
