Resumen

The issue of quality of care in health centers in Ecuador has a very recent trajectory, especially in the city of Manta, province of Manabí. The objective of this work is to identify the aspects that determine the perception of quality by the patients who attend the outpatient consultations of the Rodríguez Zambrano Hospital in the city of Manta, Ecuador. From the epistemic point of view, this work is based on the contributions and approaches of WHO; Dávila and Gómez (2009), Mira (2000) and Vallejo (2016), among others. The methodology applied was descriptive and focused on the quantitative, transversal and non-experimental method. It was developed in the area of External Consultations at the Rodríguez Zambrano de Manta Hospital, applying surveys and interviews to the 540 users who registered from January to July 2018. In relation to the results of the investigation it was determined that the care is bad and regular, that the waiting time to be treated is long and that the perception regarding attention has a highly significant and subjective aspect onthe part of the patients that allowed the effective realization of this research work.
