Resumen

Tackling COVID-19 both in Cuba and abroad and the role of scientists in this arduous battle provide an excellent opportunity to explore the links between science, technology and society from a national and international perspective. What are the consequences of cognitive capitalism in confronting the pandemic? Can it be said that the Cuban scientific system represents an alternative to neoliberal science? What kind of science model can be most effective in dealing with the complex challenges that the pandemic poses to us? What lessons can our scientific policy draw from these experiences?
