Nowadays international migratory movements have become a development factor in countries of reception as well as in countries of exit. $is article explains the contribution of migration to development, framed in the current globalization. $e importance of migration is descri bed in both poles of the migratory process (places of origin and destination) with its undeniable cultural and social repercussions. $e participation of women in these processes is outlined, every time the female presence in the migratory flows during the past years has become significant.
