Resumen
Objectives: To analyze the practices of healthcare personnel \nduring deliveries at a healthcare provider institution in the city \nof Bogota from two perspectives: gender and humanization of \nthe delivery. Taking into account that in Colombia there has been \nan integral implementation, since 2016, of a comprehensive \nroute to provide maternal perinatal Health Care as a part of a \nnew healthcare model proposed by the Ministry of Health and \nSocial Protection. Methodology: Qualitative, descriptive and \ninterpretive study conducted between June and August 2017; \nit included non-participative observation in delivery rooms \nand semi-structured interviews of women whose delivery had \nbeen observed, and the healthcare Personnel that attended them. \nField journals and interviews were coded. Content analysis \nwas conducted and the information was triangulated. Results: \nDelivery care is based on medicalized care, which subordinates \nwomen and coincides with a routine job, including a lack of \ncommunication between women and the healthcare personnel. \nThe research showed aspects that violate women's rights during \nlabor and delivery, which are legitimized by healthcare personnel \nand justified by women themselves. Conclusions: This study is \na contribution to Public Health, for it evidences a phenomenon \nnormalized in medical practice, which deserves an intervention \nfrom the perspective of humanizing Health Care Services
