Resumen

Public Health as a discipline beyond the concept, addresses different areas in order to fulfill its fundamental role of being the organized response of society to prevent, promote and cure population diseases.This is only possible to do through the different tools that it has and are part of its Essential Functions.That is why in this chapter the concept of health and public health will be reviewed to understand its essence, how it acts through the framework of the Social Determinants of Health and what is its range of scope with the Essential Functions of Public Health, to propose the current and future challenges of this complex and complete science called Public Health
