Resumen

[EN] Since the mid 1980's, Spain's role as a destination country for international economic migrants has steadily grown. Amongst the main causes of this societal transformation, we should stress its uninterrupted growth, and its peculiar social permissiveness for irregular jobs and informal work environments. In central Spain - most accessible from any place in the country - stands Madrid, the state capital and a very prosperous, as well as productive, city. Most of this article deals with the remarkable international migration to Madrid in the las three decades.
