<i>Elatine rotundifolia</i> sp. nov. (Elatinaceae) from Ecuador

Resumen

Elatine rotundifolia sp. nov. is described from tropical and subtropical areas of Ecuador ca 500 m and ca 1800 m a.s.l. All other species in north Andes are from altitudes above ca 3000 m a.s.l. The new species has unilocular capsules and extremely reduced interpetiolar stipules.
