Resumen

Barcelona Science 2007 is part of the 2005-2015 cultural sector strategic plan and encapsulates the recommendations of the cultural Agenda 21. In his speech at the inauguration of Barcelona Science 2007, Carles Marti, deputy mayor of Barcelona City Council laid out the new cultural dissemination programme through its principal lines: humankind, the world and technology seek to reduce the distance between science and citizens, fostering social participation.
