Aproximación teórica al estudio de los procesos migratorios permanentes

Resumen

Economics, Sociology and Geography have\nprovided theoretical schemes explaining\npermanent migration. Neo-classical economics,\nthe new economics of labor migration,\nsocial capital theory, transnational\ntheory and dual labor market theory off er\npartial and contradictory explanations of\npermanent migration. Th erefore, an understanding\nof why labor migrants who\narrived to work temporally are staying permanently\nin the receiving societies must be\nrelied on interdisciplinary approaches. Th is\npaper explores the reach of main theoretical\nschemes of permanent migration in order\nto understand why some farm workers\nwho came to Tamaulipas to work in orange\npicking during the season stayed permanently.
