La Migración en Moa: de receptor a emisor de población / Migration in Moa: from receiver to population emitter

Resumen

La migracion es un proceso motivado, entre otras, por razones socioeconomicas, las cuales impulsan a dejar el lugar de origen en busca de mejores condiciones de vida para el migrante hacia otras regiones donde el bienestar economico y social es superior. A partir del desarrollo de la industria minera de Moa (1982) (Gongora y Batista, 2010, p. 104), se produce una fuerte oleada migratoria, caracterizandolo como municipio receptor. Este proceso se mantuvo de forma sostenida durante decadas. Llama la atencion como se revierte, alcanzando su maximo valor negativo en el ano 1995. A partir del ano 2009 hasta la actualidad mantiene valores significativos que lo situa como municipio emisor. Resulta pertinente realizar un analisis de los factores que han propiciado las migraciones internas, los municipios emisores y receptores de su poblacion, asi como su comportamiento en el periodo 1977-2015. Para ello, se tuvo en cuenta documentos historicos de la localidad, publicaciones del Censo de Poblacion y Viviendas de los anos 2002 y 2012, Anuarios Estadisticos de la Oficina Nacional de Estadistica e Informacion de Moa (ONEI), 2016 y los resultados del cuestionario y entrevista semiestructurada aplicados por las investigadoras, tanto a personas residentes como a emigrantes del territorio. Abstract The migration is a process motivated, among others, for socioeconomic reasons, which drive to leave the place of origin in search of better living conditions for the migrant to other regions where the economic and social welfare is superior. From the development of the mining industry of Moa (1982), a strong migratory wave takes place turning it into a receiving municipality. This process was sustained for decades. It draws attention as it was reversed, reaching its maximum negative value in the year 1995. From 2009 until today, maintains significant values that set it as an issuing town. An analysis of the factors that have led to internal migration, the sending and receiving municipalities of its population, and its behavior in the period 1977-2015, is relevant. In this point we had into account historical documents of the locality, publications of the Census of Population and Housing of the years 2002 and 2012, Statistical Yearbook of the National Office of Statistics and Information of Moa (ONEI), 2016 and the results of the questionnaire and interview semistructured applied to both residents and migrants of the territory.
