La migración y la depresión en los estudiantes de la institución educativa “Chunchi” de la provincia de Chimborazo, cantón Chunchi

The objective of this research was to analyce the relationship between migration and the levels of depression of the students of the Educational Institution Chunchi, of the Chimborazo province of the Chunchi canton. Migration is a phenomenon where the population leaves their place of residence to live in another country or region, this migratory phenomenon generally occurs due to economic or social causes. The study aimed to establish the number of high school students who have relatives that migrated, identify the levels of depression in adolescents, and determine the correlation between migration and depression. The focus of this research was quantitative, the level was descriptive and correlational, establishing a sample of 185 adolescents between 14 and 20 years of age, of which 74 are male and 111 are female. The instruments for data collection of the two variables of this thesis were a questionnaire on migration and the Beck-BDI Depression Test, which is designed to be applied to adolescents from 13 years of age. Through the use of programs, the collection and analysis of data was facilitated and it was established that the 185 students are related to migration. It was determined that there is a correlation between migration and depression in students with close migrant relatives.
