Inmigración en el poniente almeriense:: pobreza, desarraigo, salud mental e implicación en el cuidado

espanolLa provincia de Almeria es una de las puertas de entrada a Europa para las personas provenientes de Africa, este hecho unido a que la agricultura almeriense necesita mano de obra hace que Almeria sea una escala casi segura para los que quieren dar el salto a Europa en busca del sueno del norte. Este es un dato a tener en cuenta por los profesionales de enfermeria de la zona ya que un importante porcentaje de los usuarios de los servicios sanitarios son extranjeros. En muchos casos el colectivo inmigrante en esta provincia, sobre todo en las zonas rurales, sufre unas condiciones sociales y laborales infrahumanas, la Junta de Andalucia ha cifrado en casi 20.000 el numero de inmigrantes que viven en unas condiciones indignas de un ser humano. En este articulo se analizan estas condiciones de vida y la repercusion que tienen sobre la salud mental de los inmigrantes, asi como la implicacion que toda esta situacion tiene en el planteamiento de nuevas estrategias en el cuidado. EnglishThe province of Almeria is one of the entrance gates into Europe for people arriving from Africa. This fact together with the need for labour for the agriculture in Almeria makes it an almost certain stopover for those wanting to make their way into Europe in search of the Northern Dream. This is a fact that the nursing professionals in the area have to bear in mind as a high percentage of those availing of the health services are foreigners. In many cases the immigrant community in the province, particularly in the rural areas, suffer social and working conditions that are subhuman. The Junta de Andalucia (the government of the autonomous community of Andalucia) considers that 20,000 immigrants live in conditions that are unworthy for humans. In this article their living conditions are examined along with the repercussions they have on the mental health of the immigrants, as well as the implications of this situation on the approach of new strategies in healthcare.
