Drug users participating in two different treatment modalities in Puerto Rico (Drug Free, and Methadone) were interviewed upon entry and two months latero The study sought to assess whether there waa a relationship between type of treatment, time in treatment and increase or decrease in drug, alcohol and tobacco use, and money spent in buying drugs. The findings showed that time in treatment and type of treatment predicted significanüy a reduction in drug and alcohol use and of the money spent buying drugs
