Resumen
Abstract Mikania palmata and Mikania wurdackii, endemic to Ecuador and Peru, respectively, are new species. Both are members of section Summikania. Dendroid hairs are reported on the leaves, stems, and capitulescences of M. wurdackii and compared to somewhat similar structures reported elsewhere in the genus only on the cypselae of two Brazilian species.
