Resumen

Ecuador is the second country in South America where the phenomenon of immigration occurs the most. Some of the reasons are the internal economic crisis, lack of job opportunities and a reduction of personal income, generating transnational families that leave the host country to look for better opportunities for their future. A transnational family is one in which a one of its members moves to another location, and starts to develop different roles and affective attachments. They establish economic, social and cultural interchanges across their frontiers. Maintaining alive the affectionate links between the people that immigrate and the ones that stay in the host country. We realized a qualitative investigation, with a design review of the literature of trends about migration and transnational families in Ecuador, between the years of 2000 and 2013.
