Resumen

Although open access to science is well-known in academic and research community there are confused ideas and misconceptions about some of its objectives, and features. This book is organized to answer these questions and misunderstandings. First, we present the background of open access movement, a fundamental transformation of scientific communication process but without changing peer review. The following chapters analyze the status of scientific journals and repositories, the legal aspects related to scientific information, the attitude of scientists in front open access, policies established to facilitate the extension of this model and, finally, its future challenges.
