PSICOLOGIA CLlNICA V DE LA SALUD EN ESPAÑA: SU ESTADO ACTUAL

Resumen

An analysis in presented of some relevant factors concerning the establishing and development of clinical psychology in Spain: Its place in the universities, publications, and scientific associations. Clinical psychology was consolidated in the academic field with the establishment ofpsychologytraining programs in Spanish universities, beginning in 1968. However, it was only during the decade of the 80's that the first course on Behavior Modification was taught in most universities. Joumals on clinical and health psychology are a way of leaming about new findings, and can be used as a forro of quantifying the area. The third factor to take into consideration are scientific psychology associations with a behavioral orientation; five of tbese associations currently exist, and each one of them has contributed in some degree to the establishment of clinical psychology, both in the academic and in the professional fields. Finally, a contemporary description of the clinical psychologist in Spain is presented.
