Acerca de la inexistencia de la ciencia cognitiva

Resumen

Cognitivism or Information Processing Theory has been constituted as the dominant paradigm in the field of the Psychology. Following Kuhn, when the paradigms dominate a field of discipline they don't explicit their theoretical ontological and epistemological suppositions, imposing itself as THE WAY of understanding a certain area and/or study object that in the case of Psychology is the Self. Indeed the models of the self not only determine how it will be understood but rather also how one will intervene on it. This article in fact analyzes the model of self that Cognitivism sustains and that it is at the base of all its concepts and technological translations, exposing how the model was constructed and how it gradually became the dominant model. It also approaches the main critics to the model that shows their fissures, critics that have determined the appearance of alternative models that today marks the theoretical (and also professional) discussion in the field of Psycholog
