Pornografía y Salud Mental.

Resumen

The author seeks to clarify the conceptual lack of definition between terms like eroticism, lust, obscenity and pornography. The author points out the confusion between the psychopathological and the ideological when it comes to assessing the possible negative effects of pornography on young people and on the dignity of the woman. The author recommends that the mental health professionals faithfully collaborate with the welfare systems when confronting these phenomena, provided that the programmes that they take part in do not clash with their ethical conceptions. There is data about the possible harmfulness of pornography that, although not scientifically defined, makes it recommendable that the professionals adopt a posture of sensible reservation.
