Migración y remesas en Michoacán: discursos y realidades

Resumen

Migration and monetary remittances are part of the current discourse of development that is fueled by exorbitant statistics of people and dollar amounts in global movement. Because of the aspirations of development agencies and international financier organisms about the supposed role of monetary remittances on local development, governments faced with the minimalization of the state and the lack of resources have adopted a development ideology. In this article we review the politics of the productive use of monetary remittances and contrast these with the local impact of remittances in Michoacan
