Resumen

In the context of Climate Change (CC), it is essential to highlight how issues related to gender, ethnicity, socioeconomic aspects, or age affect men and women differently. Hence, participatory action research experiences have been promoted in intermediate cities in Latin America, showing the particularities of this population in relation to their vulnerability and resilience situation. The relationship between CC, forced migration, and gender inequality was analyzed, with special attention to the vulnerability of women and girls. Through a systematic review of literature and reports from international organizations, the disproportionate effects of CC on this group are examined, such as gender-based violence, trafficking, and labor exploitation. Despite their key role in adaptation and resilience, women face structural barriers in the receiving countries, such as workplace discrimination and overload of responsibilities. It highlights the urgency of reformulating migration policies to ensure climate justice and human rights, promoting safe and legal pathways.
