Expectativas y determinantes sobre la migración de retorno de científicos argentinos desde Estados Unidos // Expectations and determinants factors on the return migration of Argentine scientists from the United States

Resumen

his paper aims to investigate -through qualitative strategy-the reasons professionals have for returning to Argentina, after having completed a doctorate and / or postdoctoral fellowship in hard sciences in the United States. The analysis highlights people’s long-term projection, the weight of close ties and the possibility of obtaining a stable academic position including social security benefits and scientific independence. It also discloses emerging tensions and the importance of circulation and internationalization of careers. The final reflections systematize the findings, which are discussed according to the theory.
