Resumen

This article examines skilled labor migration in the North American region, specifically focusing on the labor situation of professionals from Canada and Mexico in the U.S. job market. The findings reveal that Canadian and Mexican migrants have similar educational levels and fields of knowledge, which are consistent with those of native-born Americans, indicating that they represent complementary rather than substitutive labor to the U.S. workforce. However, Canadians possess a higher level of education compared to Mexicans and are primarily employed in activities related to professional, scientific, and technical services, as well as healthcare services. In contrast, Mexicans are predominantly employed in occupations related to education and health, highlighting differentiated labor market integration between the two groups.
