Competencias profesionales: una propuesta de evaluación para las facultades de ciencias administrativas

Resumen

Adopting the competencies approach in the formation of administrators implies important changes in the teaching-learning processes, which involve a redefinition of the curricula and within them, the evaluation methodologies as well as the changes in the evaluation modality that the State has started to implement for senior students. It is necessary to state that the evaluation of knowledge must turn into performance and achievement evaluations by means of methods which are more in accordance with the approach that has started to de adopted. Propositive, argumentative and interpretative competencies are crucial for the good performance of professionals in management but, in addition to the competencies that the State defines in the evaluations, it is necessary to include the separate treatment of competencies, an objective that universities take into account in their formation processes.The experience of La Sabana University in the evaluation of basic competencies has enriched the Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences in the sense that, when giving feedback to students, teachers and educational processes , not only the planning but also the educational praxis have been incorporated with attitudes of improvement that lead to strengthening the development of profession competencies. After revising the methods of international experiences regarding State evaluations, it observed that Colombia seems to be most attached to traditional evaluations of knowledge as compared with more adequate methods to evaluate competencies.
