Resumen
The main purpose of this paper is to analyze migration and remittances in the region of Las Haciendas, municipality of Santiago Ixcuintla, Nayarit, which includes the ejidos of San Andres, Santa Cruz and Palmar de Cuautla and the way in which the migratory phenomena of these Localities have an impact on social issues, as well as on the way in which the remittances received by the families of migrants serve to prolong the life of a development model that shows signs of exhaustion, serving as a soothing of poverty and marginalization, mainly in Rural areas of the municipality of Santiago Ixcuintla, Nayarit. For this reason, remittances now viewed as a possibility for development imply the transfer of resources without solid links to savings, the improvement of productive capacity and the economic growth of sending countries, where migrants influence in different degrees In the political, social, economic and cultural life of their places of origin, making them agents of development. For our exploratory study we took as case of study twelve localities located in the region of Las Haciendas, Nayarit.
