Resumen
The next article is a work of reflexion extracted from the investigation presented as a degree tesis : From Barrio Obrero to the Quince: intineraries and representaciones of San Juan and Cali in salsa code. (University of Puerto Rico. Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, 2008). This text tries to show how particular socio-cultural procedures in particular territorial contexts as New York, San Juan And/or Cali, have been tied to geopolitic and macroeconomic dinamics, generating a tension between production and muldialization of imaginaries, as well as apropiation of local practices and simbolic re-signification. The distintion as “salsa music is a recurrent of re-interpetation and innovations about the afrocuban musical repertory, done mostly by Puerto Ricans living in The Latin Neiborhood of New york at the middle of the sixties, that will be just a horizon in the configuration of a group of communication practices it of the comunity nominated as “salsa cultura”. Watch, then, the salsa fenomenon as a constant process of urban re-signification and mutual penetration and trans-territorial affection (New York, San juan, Cali, panama, Caracas), validates as a practice of compemporany comunication.
