Over 3.5 billion people worldwide have untrea-ted oral diseases without there being a real im-provement in oral health in the last 30 years (1). The combined global prevalence of dental caries, periodontal disease and tooth loss has been unchanged at 45%, higher than any other noncommunicable disease(2).
