Resumen

Lead is a highly toxic metal that is present in many of the activities that man performs- smelting, agriculture, batteries factories, in paints and fuel as additive. Occupational Health is responsible for controlling the risks from exposure to this metal. This review is done in order to update knowledge on the possible effects of exposure to this metal able to cause alterations in various organ systems: nervous, renal, circulatory, immune, reproductive and hematopoietic.
