Cuidados globalizados y desigualdad social. Reflexiones sobre la feminización de la migración andina

espanolLa creciente feminizacion de las migraciones sigue siendo un tema secundario o ausente en las politicas publicas. No obstante, el hecho de encontrar un numero cada vez mayor de actividades relacionadas con el trabajo domestico y de cuidados en manos de trabajadoras migrantes ha llamado la atencion sobre la necesidad de examinar con mas profundidad los vinculos entre el trabajo migrante y la creciente dificultad de los Estados y sociedades receptores para garantizar la reproduccion social de sus habitantes. La «globalizacion» de los cuidados y las familias transnacionales no solo constituyen una nueva fuente de desigualdad; tambien actualizan viejas jerarquias de clase y genero en las sociedades de origen y contribuyrn a redifinir concepciones naturalizadas sobre la familia. EnglishThe increasing feminization of migration remains a subject that is secondary in �or absent from� public policies. Nevertheless, a growing number of activities related with domestic work and care rest in the hands of female migrant workers, calling attention to the need to examine in more depth the links between migrant work and the increasing difficulty of receiving States and societies to guarantee the social reproduction of their inhabitants. The «globalization» of the carers and transnational families are not only a new source of inequality; they also bring up to date old hierarchies of class and gender in the societies of origin and contribute to the redefinition of naturalized concepts about the family.
