El Territorio como Determinante Social de la Salud: Algunas Estrategias para su Abordaje

Resumen

Health is a dynamic state of well-being that can reach different stages. It depends on the interactions of various elements that make up this complex process and that address the whole person. From a biopsychosocial approach, this process is explained by the influence on the lives of people and communities, through the Social Determinants of Health. These include a broad set of dimensions in the daily life of the human being and are articulated beyond the health of the person to include their social context. Within this, the territory as a dimension that transverses the lives of individuals in their communities. In this context, Primary Health Care, health promotion and disease prevention, as well as community participation should be key strategies to achieve at least adequate health results. However, in this process the territory is of vital importance, which is why this article attempts to analyze some of the strategies with which it is possible to address the Social Determinants of Health from the territory.
